Current homelab architecture - October 2026

PBS01 runs as a virtual machine hosted on TrueNAS02.

The current platform runs on three Proxmox hosts, with three Kubernetes control planes and four workers on Talos. The diagrams below replace the January 2026 overview while retaining the original rack design.

Public edition: all IP addresses and service URLs in these diagrams are fictional examples. Reserved example/test address ranges are used consistently, and network sizes are illustrative rather than deployment values. Application names, roles and relationships are retained.

1. Rack, virtualization and Kubernetes

An overview of the rack, all 39 VMs including 12 stopped guests, the seven-node Talos cluster and 48 applications separated by access.

2. Storage and backups

3. VLANs and primary network flows

Native LAN, Kubernetes, DMZ, IoT and VPN address spaces, plus HAProxy, MetalLB, BGP and storage paths.

4. Websites: external routes and internal access

The 28 website groups are separated by observed routing and source restrictions. An external route does not imply anonymous access or tested Internet reachability.

5. Kubernetes service inventory

76 displayed Service objects from the reviewed cluster, including technical, headless and lab services. Service objects are not the same as end-user applications.

6. Platform and standalone services

Infrastructure management, database and DNS services, plus local AI and automation runtimes outside Kubernetes.
