Windows 7 drivers LifeCam

Category : Microsoft, Windows 7

I didn’t had many issue with hardware, I don’t own last video card on the market etc but everything wen fine with some google search. For example my webcam : Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000, i’ve try the vista drivers (LifeCam 1.3 & 1.4) but it didn’t work at all…

Then I’ve found this webpage : http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx which list all the drivers for Windows 7.

The to make your LifeCam work with Windows 7 you have to download LifeCam 2.9 beta and it works great with many litlle funny options :) This links lead you straight the the drivers download and this is 32/64 bit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=137236

Thanks for the link to the Windows 7 beta drivers. I thought my experience might of use to others:

I had a problem installing the drivers for VTX1000.
The solution was to install the drivers from the Microsoft Hardware Support website (for Windows 7 beta).
After following the instructions, i.e. install, pluging in the cam at the step prompted, Windows attempts to look for the drivers from Windows update.
This fails.
I then rebooted and tried various thing but the solution was to do as above.
Go into device manager, the imagining device (for the cam) was shown “unknown” with a “?”. Selecting and updating the device driver to search on the hard disk (Windows install volume, .e.g. C: found the correct driver and its works fine now.
Many thanks for the tips here.
Good luck.

I want to thank S B, i read what you said to do and worked for me as i am on windows 7 beta too. Thank you
